I couldn’t agree more… What is up with devoting all the resources to the graphics?… What about the great stories and gameplay?… Innovation?.
Argh… And this is an industry I want to break into, but doing all this cool stuff that is “risky” and “non safe” business… :-S
Actually, I think that article was mostly crap.
Supposedly Nintendo’s console is addressing most of the issues seen in that article. Me being a big Nintendo fan(boy) hopes it does. However, I just get the feeling that most gamers actually disagree with that and they just want more eye candy and more of the same but a little bit increased. Which is why nintendo’s consoles aren’t very popular (I have to admit that he does address this point, though).
Another thing, the processors used in all three consoles have similar architectures to the G4s and G5s used in apple machines, and all of these are quite capable of computing nifty A.I so I think the rant about consoles moving away from this capacity is quite a load of bull.
I have more arguments to say but nobody usually listens to me anyway so I’ll just stop.
