SXSW
Quick Update: I’m at SxSW, enjoying the hell out of myself, and hanging out with Andy Clarke, Andy Budd, Jeremy Keith, the Clagnut guy, Andrei Hierasimchuk, Paul Scrivens, D Keith Robinson, Jason Santa Maria, Jon Hicks, Jeffrey Zeldman, Dave Shea, Joe Clark et al (links to be added in the future, but you know who these guys are).
You would not believe how cool these people are, and the fun we’ve been having. I must be the only person who’s not actually connected all the time, so the website has been getting spam by the truckloads, but I will have a consistent connection soon and post a longer entry with the specifics.
Highlights: I won the Latin American Bloggie (thank you everyone!!) and was there to pick it up, which was great fun (Sal: Saw your comments on the projection screen with the IRC chat thing. Thanks!), and Zeldman used my site as an example in one of the best panels of the conference, which of course, I missed due to being hung over (story of my life: The best bits of it happen elsewhere).

¡Felicidades! It was good to meet you Saturday — I wish I hadn’t let brownian motion push me away quite so fast; it would have been interesting to hear the back story on your blog and what it was like to “represent your country” (as you put it) at SXSW.
I’ve just floated a trial balloon for an SXSW panel on blogging while bilingual. I wonder what you think of the idea and whether you know of any bloggers writing in both Spanish and English who would be good panelists.

Hey Sergio, it was good to meet you there (several times, no less!). I never did work out how we lost all those people on Monday evening, but it was probably just as well that we called it a night … except that I then found a ‘wind-down’ party on the 17th floor of the Hilton with some people from Digital Web, the ever-present Min Jung, the crazy man that is’ the Scrivs’ and that quiet, reserved person we know as Molly … to name but a few. Anyway, it would be great if you could make it again next year. Actually, it would be great if I can too (working on it already!)
Sergio, I had the time of my life hanging out with you at SxSW. Let’s do it all again in 2006.
Sergio, you are awesome. I had so much fun meeting you. I’ll never forget the Tuesday lunch at P.F. Cheng’s with Eric Meyer, Tantek, Ian, Dunstan, Christopher, Porter, Kimberly, Richard, you, Dave Shea and I told crazy stories. A great time.
We have to do it again next year.

Actually, Ian, Mal Bicho was congratulating me, and asking for a spanish translation of the comic. I think it was a passing reference to Elote’s lack of usage of spanish that got her all riled up.
