How do you get past 4? wtf?
I got through 4 by copying the image into paint. You use the fill tool, and the link pops up.
i have NEVER been able to see the stupid things in level 3 NEVER!!!!
I don’t have a clue as in how to solve no. 5… plain confuses me. If anyone gets it, I’d like that clue.
I’m stuck in stage4 the white one!
any idea?
play with the contrast in photoshop… is that cheating?…
whatever, it works.
I figured out 5. Just double click to highlight the image in the browser. But wait till you see No. 6!
that’s why i couldn’t figure it out! it can’t be seen on FireFox! you have to use IE
Damn, 6 is a bitch.
Max: Thanks. You saved my sanity there. I was starting to lose it (doing this from a Mac, so no chance of EVER solving it).
And I’ve got 6 already. Try downloading the image. The terminal is your friend.
Seven is easy. Try saving again.
Is there actually an image? I only see an “X” to show me the space holder when a picture doesn’t display. It usually means the person who wrote the HTML didn’t get the file name correct or didn’t actually upload the file to the server. But the message seems to indicate that this is as it should be. You say to download the image, but I have no image to download and am not given the option.
I’m talking about 6 by the way.
Max: It usually works that way. But a broken image can represent a corrupt or invalid file, too.
Well, I don’t know how it was supposed to work, but I just went to the parent directory, and by clicking on the file, it flat-out showed me the answer. On to 7. :)
hahahah! That’s because it’s a text file, it’s just saved with jpeg extension.
Luna is the goddess of image puzzles. We’re on stage 12!
A little help on 8 then please!
Try checking the different image CMYK plates in photoshop.
Any luck on 12?
Nothing dude. Number 12’s a bitch.
I tried breaking l/r sides into transparent layers and overlapping the positives.. but to no avail.
got it. trying way to hard.
Wow! How?
we are? hmm…
the address is in all black. Capitalization matters. (luna, i was trying way to hard)
but i tried the capital…didnt’ work for me.
looking for **.htm
I CAN’T FIND IT!!! I’M GOING INSANE!
you are looking for two letters. one is very skinny. one is very fat.
Wow! I completely missed that for too long!!! Thanks!
Stuck on 11! I can see the ‘.htm’ and i think i see a ‘b’ ‘j’ and maybe a ‘c’ or ‘v’. please someone help me!
Jax: There’s transparency in that image. Try seeing it somewhere else.
na na! (15 is a booger)
thanks sergio! i dk why i didn’t try that
YAY! IT’S DONE!!!
Yeah, 15 was too easy. Awesome everyone!!!
that was an enjoyable excercise. great post.
*doing little victory dance*
WOHOOO!!!!
Yay! This was awesome. Thanks everyone!!
ok, i’m stuck on 13, maybe i’m looking at it too hard. help please?
Jax: They are just letters. Look at them hard. See the details. Capitalization matters.
14 is same principle.
I am stuck on number 8. I don’t have photoshop. Can this be solved without some image editing tools?
Still stuck on 11… and even my roommates can’t get it.
Is it lOV.htm? I’ve tried so many combos of capitalization and switching the “O” for a “0”, but nothing is working.
Ooops… by 11 i meant 13.
Jax: You got it right. Just watch the capitalization on the file extension, not just the name =)
Mike: You will need an image editing program for that one. If you want you can email me for the answer.
It gets even better. :0) After the image puzzle test there is more. A code, math and general knowledge test, and for dessert a sort of IQ-test.
Ok, I have tried all I can, but since I have no depth perception I cannot get past 3. Anyone give me some help with that one so I can continue?
I’m stuck on #3 too - I’ve never been able to see those things. Anybody want to help?
The answer to #3 is o.htm
Thanks! Up to #8 now.
Did someone actually solved #3 just by looking at it?
Yeah, I did. Always been able to see those things.
Do me a favor will you, take the 3rd picture, and just outline the letters you see in red or something, and send it to pragma at sapo.pt
Holy crap on a stick, #7 in the math puzzle was a bitch. I had to dredge up some old, old geometry rules to figure it out, then they trick you by changing the unit of measurement for the answer…bastards.
Stuck on #11. I can see all of the characters, but none of the combinations I’ve tried work. Are you supposed to use all the letters?
any clues on 7, i’m still not getting it
Still stuck on #8. On a side note, want to know how to reduce the output of an entire creative dept. to absolutely 0? Give them this thing and tell them there’s goodies in it if they photoshop it right.
Nickh: Check the filename.
Iliana: Check the CMYK channels. And having the creative dept. output work on this: priceless =)
Kelly: Have you seen the image’s transparency? The characters are used from left to right, top to bottom.
Thanks for the tip. Up to #12!
Woop, make that #13. Could someone who knows the address tell me if there’s something wrong with the link? I can see the letters in this one!
Hmph. Stuck on number 15 - any clues?
Iliana:
There’s nothing wrong with it. The clue is how you put the letters together to make up the link (hint: read above posts regarding it).
Um…I’ve got photoshop, but it’s refusing to open the file for image 8
nevermind. file type changes are catching me
Okay, I think I must be losing it… I’ve tried everything on #13, and I just keep getting 404’s. I get what you’re saying about the letters, but I think I’m missing some sort of simple catch.
Iliana: As Sergio said, watch the capitalisation on the file extension as well.
And can *anyone* give me a clue on number 15? Please?
Andy: It’s a lot of noise. Try denoising it. Also check the channels.
Thanks Sergio. I saw it had a lot of noise, originally, but didn’t realise the minute differences in the channels. Got it now :).
I must just not be getting this. Assuming that the first three letters are really lOV, there are only 8 possible combinations of htm, right? At least without messing with the order. Right? I’m so confused; I’ve tried the eight that I think are all of the possibilities…
This is fun and all, but I don’t really want to download Photoshop to figure out number 8… I have a program called the GIMP, but when I open the file in it, there aren’t any layers to seperate, which I knew was a long shot… Is the 2 letters part of those words or is it in the background?
I solved them all in about an hour or two, they’re not THAT hard… I’d love to spend more time on the cryptography puzzles but I didn’t yet.
ARGH! I don’t have Photoshop! What’s the answer to number 8?
OK. 8 is killing me. messed with the channels but not sure how i should be messing with them. I open as .gif and then go into cmyk mode.
NM, I got it.
What is the answer to number 6…..i dont understand it……….i cant look at it on a different program either…..what is it????
Stuck on #13… I’m almost positive it should be iOV.HTM, but no matter what I try I keep getting 404’s any help here?????
I am in code state 4
who can give me some tips?
Bear, copy and paste the image on stage 4 into Paint, then use the ‘fill with colour’
OMG, I cannot figure out #15. I got all the others pretty easily, but this is killing me!
It’s just a cloud, or what? I despeckled it, and played with the CMYK and RGB channels till the cows came home, and I just keep getting dust. Can anyone give me any hints? (Besides just “denoise” and “play with the channels”, because I’m doing what I think that means. Is there a specific denoising filter that I need to get? Which channels should I play with?)
Ha ha!
After playing with filters and gamma and whatnot, I finally made out a K in the last one. Then, I realized that I don’t have to do things the hard way, and figured that the solution is to cheat.
I can’t post a link to google, so here’s how to do it:
Search google for:
image site:http://www.etienne.nu
Hi! What is the answer for 14th? I tried to search from google, but I didn’t find it.
The homepage is now redesigned!
Shit, I can’t even get past #3. I’ve never been able to see the images in those things.
