US nutjob found with chemical weapons
In this NYT article (free reg. required), it is revealed that a white supremacist was found with a bigass cyanide bomb, and Ashcroft hasn’t said a peep to the media (unlike Padilla, who was publicly flogged because of looking different, apparently). Is the US govt.’s focus on islamic terrorism hindering its effectivity against domestic threats?

it would be hard to distract the US from domestic threats considering how little attention the Fed has paid to them in the first place.
Unless you count some rednecks in a pick-up truck buying nitrate fertilizer and gasoline for thier farm in Alabama, but I don’t think there were any Feddies involved in that particular act of over-reaction.
